GoBuyPlants Garden Bushes 3 gal Holly sku-14942124545

GoBuyPlants Helleri Japanese holly is a slow-growing dwarf evergreen shrub sold in a 3 gal pot under Garden Bushes. Native to East Asia and eastern Russia, this female holly has a rounded habit and small, dark green, spineless leaves. Infrequent white spring flowers give way to small black fruits in fall that last through winter. It grows 2' to 4' tall and spreads 3' to 5'; spacing is 4'.

It suits USDA hardiness zones 5 to 8 and full or part sun. Plant it in moist, slightly acidic, well-drained soil and water regularly. Maintenance needs are low, though mites, scale, leaf spot, rot and mildew are possible. In hotter climates, protect it from afternoon sun to reduce leaf scorch or drop.

It can be used in borders, woodland or wildlife gardens, foundation plantings, hedges, containers, accents or group plantings. Suggested companions are burning bush, rhododendron and blueberry. Its seasons of interest are fall and year-round. Plants may differ in appearance from the image. Photo: David J. Stang, Ilex crenata Helleri 1zz, CC BY-SA 4.0. SKU: sku-14942124545. UPC: 097892128035.
