Azalea Gumpo White - 3 Gallon Pot, Live Dwarf Evergreen Shrub, Part Sun, Outdoor

Gumpo White Azalea is a dwarf late-blooming hybrid evergreen shrub with small leaves and large ruffled white flowers that begin to bloom from late spring into summer. Cold winters may freeze the flower buds and reduce bloom come spring, and leaves may experience winter burn. This versatile plant prefers partial sun with acidic rich, well-drained soils and is an excellent pollination and butterfly attractor. Gumpo White Azalea is a shrub that grows 1.5' - 2' tall and 2' - 3' wide, with a spacing of 2'. It is hardy in USDA Hardiness Zones 7 - 9 (hardy to 0°F). This low-maintenance plant has moderate water needs, and properly drained soils are a must to avoid root rot. Mulching helps to keep the roots from drying out, and it's important to keep the plant away from the drip lines of the walnut family. Acidifying the soil as needed (pH range of 5 to 6.5) is recommended, especially in southern climates with excessive humidity, which can lead to powdery mildew, twig blights, and rust. Gumpo White Azalea is versatile and can be used as accents or group plantings, in borders, woodland gardens, wildlife gardens, naturalized areas, foundational plantings, hedges, and containers. Companion plants for Gumpo White Azalea include other azaleas, Japanese maples, and camellias.
