MSD 85891 is a Red distributor in Performance Ignition and Electrical, SKU sku-654139324, UPC 085132858910. Installation requires three wire connections and no separate MSD Ignition Control. It comes with an HEI-style cap and rotor that accept Cap-A-Dapts, plus a built-in rev limiter. An oil tract lubricates the distributor and cam gear, while nylon pads support the advance weights.

The built-in module produces a 7.5 amp single spark through high rpm. Supplied springs and stop bushings adjust the mechanical advance; the vacuum advance canister can be locked out. It has a CNC-machined billet aluminum housing and base, a maintenance-free magnetic pickup, a precision reluctor and a polished, QPQ-coated steel shaft guided by a sealed ball bearing.

The chrome-moly steel advance plate and weights are fine blanked and QPQ coated. The mechanical advance can be locked out for crank-trigger systems, and the advance weight pins are staked and TIG welded to the plate.
