It has a steel distributor gear compatible with most hydraulic roller cam applications and must be used with an MSD Ignition Control. Nylon pads help the advance weights move smoothly; their pins are staked and TIG-welded to the plate. The mechanical advance can be locked out for crank-trigger systems or adjusted with the supplied springs and stop bushings.
The chrome-moly-steel advance plate and weights are fine-blanked and QPQ-coated to reduce friction. A sealed ball bearing guides the polished, QPQ-coated steel shaft. It also has a maintenance-free magnetic pickup and precision reluctor for stable trigger signals across the rpm range, plus a CNC-machined billet-aluminum housing and base.
