Hokema Kalimbas B11 Melody Kalimba, SKU sku-2353034083, has 11 metal tines tuned to G major: g, a, e, d, c, g, d, g, f#, b, a. Its solid American black cherry wood body is handcrafted and finished with natural oils and waxes. It measures 5.5" x 4.1" x 2.4". The long and short tines alternate; the six shorter tines have raised ends for thumb access.

Numbered from left to right, the longer tines are 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10, while the odd-numbered tines are shorter. For single-voice melodies, the left thumb generally plays tines 1 through 6 and the right thumb plays 6 through 11. The tuning suits popular tunes as well as improvisation and intuitive playing. Kalimbas originated in southern Africa and have many variations there.
