Roosebeck THMRC Red Cedar Kalimba Unisex sku-771305279

The Roosebeck THMRC is a brand-new, Unisex Kalimba made with C Red Cedar and lacewood. This 5" x 7" thumb piano has 17 adjustable steel keys, a rounded back and two vibrato holes on the back. The keys sit on a wooden box that acts as a resonating chamber. The thumb piano originates in Africa and is also known as the mbira or likembe.

To play, rest it on the fingers of both hands, hold it between your palms and pluck the keys with your thumbs. Cover and uncover the vibrato holes with your fingers while playing. Longer keys produce lower pitches; shorter keys produce higher pitches. Tap keys in or out to change their length and pitch.

Tuning is a matter of preference unless two instruments are played together, when they should generally agree. Shipping weight: 1.92 lbs. SKU: sku-771305279. UPC: 844731059070.
