The design aims to reduce misfires and erratic starts associated with poor fuel mixtures or soot buildup, while improving throttle response, fuel consumption and emissions. Each plug is 100 percent pre-fired. DENSO says the plugs last twice as long as conventional plugs; a five-rib insulator helps reduce flashover and voltage loss.
DENSO has developed direct ignition coils and aftermarket platinum and iridium plugs, and has received the Deming Award for Quality, the J.D. Power and Associates Chairman's Award, and supplier quality awards.
