This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — hard drive is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended for data recovery and HDD repair use. Before purchasing, confirm that replacing the PCB is likely to resolve your issue by consulting our Hard Drive Diagnostics Guide, and verify part compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Many WD PCBs store unique calibration and configuration in a ROM ("memory") chip; that data is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred or applied to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — either transplanting the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
