Product is the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. You may receive a PCB that differs slightly from the photo due to our large stock of similar boards. This replacement board is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery purposes. Before ordering, confirm that a PCB swap will resolve your issue by following our Hard Drive Diagnostics Guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Note: most WD PCBs store unique calibration and firmware data in a ROM memory chip; that information is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — we will either transplant the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogram the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
