This listing is for the hard drive PCB / logic board only — no hard drive or metal/platter assembly is included. Because we stock a large quantity of boards, the exact PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Before purchasing, confirm that swapping the PCB will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify part compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Important: most WD circuit boards store drive-specific configuration in a ROM (memory) chip. That ROM data is required for the drive to operate correctly, so the ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — either transplanting the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
