This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive included. Because we stock a large quantity of boards, the exact PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery or repair of a compatible WD drive. Before purchasing, confirm that replacing the PCB will address your problem by consulting our hard drive Diagnostics Guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Important: most WD PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM memory chip that is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board (or the new board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data). If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can usually move the chip. For customers spending $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the proper ROM data.
