This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and HDD repair. Before buying, confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Important: many WD PCBs store unique configuration data in a ROM "memory" chip. That ROM data (or the chip itself) must be transferred or programmed onto the replacement board for the drive to work correctly. If you are not comfortable doing this, a local computer technician can often transplant the chip. For customers spending $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the board with the correct ROM data.
