Because we stock a large number of these boards, the exact PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. The board is intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery scenarios. Most hard drive PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM ("memory") chip; that data is required for the drive to operate correctly and must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer professional can usually perform the transfer.
