This listing is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we maintain a large inventory, the actual PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Purpose: This PCB is intended for hard drive repair or data recovery use. Important ROM information: Many WD PCBs hold unique configuration data in the ROM "memory" chip that is required for the drive to function properly. That ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved to the new PCB, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transfer.
