Item is the hard drive circuit board / logic board ONLY — no hard drive included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair or data recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement board will resolve your issue by following our hard drive Diagnostics Guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs contain unique information stored in the ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for correct drive operation. The ROM chip (or its data) must be moved to the replacement PCB or the replacement must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM contents. If the ROM chip can be physically transferred, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For purchases of $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either moving the ROM chip onto your new PCB or reprogramming the new board with the proper ROM data.
