This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — NO HARD DRIVE IS INCLUDED. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the actual board you receive may look slightly different from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Important: many WD PCBs store unique drive-specific data in a ROM "memory" chip. That ROM contents are required for the drive to function correctly; the ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can usually complete the task. For customers spending $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service — either transplanting the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
