This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the unit you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repairs. Most hard drive PCBs store unique parameters in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If transplanting the chip is possible, a local computer technician can typically perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either moving the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
