This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These PCBs are intended for hard drive repair and data-recovery use. Before ordering, verify that a PCB swap will address your drive’s problem by consulting our hard drive diagnostics guide, and confirm part compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs store unique information in a ROM (memory) chip; that data is required for the drive to function correctly. You must transfer the ROM chip or its contents to the replacement board; if the chip can be moved, a local computer technician can typically perform the procedure. For purchases of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
