Product is the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — hard drive is NOT included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photos. This PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair and data recovery projects. Before purchasing, verify compatibility by consulting our Donor Matching Guide and run through the Hard Drive Diagnostics Guide to confirm a replacement PCB will address your issue. Most drive circuit boards store unique parameters in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself, or its data, must be transferred to the replacement board. If physical chip transfer is possible, a local computer technician can typically perform the procedure. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
