This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock large quantities, the actual PCB you receive may vary slightly from the photo. The board is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery use. Most WD PCBs store unique drive-specific information in a ROM "memory" chip; that information is required for correct operation. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer; for customers spending $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip or reprogramming the new PCB with the correct ROM data.
