This sale is for the hard drive circuit board / logic board ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large quantity of these PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These replacement boards are intended for hard drive repair and data recovery tasks. Before ordering, confirm that a PCB swap will resolve your issue by using our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify part compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs contain a unique ROM "memory" chip that stores mandatory calibration and firmware data; that ROM or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board for proper operation. If physically moving the ROM chip is feasible, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. Customers with orders of $60 or more qualify for our complimentary adaptation service, which includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the board with the correct ROM data.
