Thomastik BC33G_OLD Cello C String Other Unisex sku-38464042

Thomastik BC33G_OLD is a Belcanto Gold cello C string in the String Instruments and Accessories category. It is listed as Other, Unisex, under sku-38464042. A cellist's nickel allergy prompted Thomastik-Infeld to develop the Belcanto strings after her attempts to treat the allergy failed. At the time, nickel was believed necessary for a characteristic cello sound.

In the Belcanto range, the A and D strings have steel cores, while the G and C strings have rope cores. The C string has a tungsten layer for added volume. The Belcanto set has a bright, clear, balanced sound; Belcanto Gold has a transparent, rich, warm timbre. Tensions are coordinated so players can combine strings to adjust their instrument's sound.

The strings respond readily and settle into tune quickly. Belcanto Gold is 100% nickel-free and suitable for players with nickel allergies. This is the C string for a 4/4-size cello.
