The Standard Horizon GX1400B is a black GX1400 Eclipse Series fixed-mount VHF radio listed in Fishing as Compact, Multicolor and Unisex. It meets ITU-R M493-13 Class D Digital Selective Calling requirements and has a separate Channel 70 receiver, so it can receive DSC calls while tuned to communications.

With GPS connected, its distress function sends a digital MAYDAY with vessel identification, latitude, longitude and time. It also supports Individual, Urgency, Safety, Position Report and Send calls. The radio has a bright, high-resolution dot-matrix display, an E2O icon/menu system, microphone controls, programmable soft keys, DSC test calls and automatic DSC channel-change selection.

With a compatible GPS receiver, it shows position and time; NMEA input and output connect to a compatible GPS chart plotter.
