Made for the NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR, this silver circular polarizing (CPL) filter removes unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water and glass while enhancing color and contrast. Its ultra-slim aluminum frame prevents vignetting yet maintains rotation capabilities for adjusting levels. A nonslip upper rim makes installation, rotation and removal easy and secure. The filter glass is treated with double-sided, multi-layered coatings and is anti-oil, anti-dust, anti-soil, scratch & water resistant. By arranging and filtering directionally polarized light perpendicular to reflected light, the CPL absorbs much of the reflected light, clearing haze in distant landscapes and producing more saturated, vivid colors. Commonly used to boost contrast and saturation in blue skies and white clouds, the effect is strongest when used at a 90° angle from the sun.
