No rating yet(0 ratings)Unbranded sku-18158955189, UPC 782690681614, is listed under Ceramic & Pottery Supplies. This package contains 50 self-supporting Orton pyrometric cones for industrial, pottery and hobby kilns. Cone 6 bends at approximately 2232° F, depending on firing conditions. Place a cone on a kiln shelf or in a kiln sitter to gauge whether the firing received enough heat.
When its tip bends level with the base, it indicates a completed firing. Orton makes the cones with controlled compositions so they bend within a small temperature range. Pyrometric cones have been used in ceramic firing for more than 100 years.
