This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we maintain a large stock of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Many Seagate PCBs store essential calibration and configuration data in a ROM ("memory") chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself, or its contents, must be moved or programmed onto the replacement board. If the chip can be physically transferred, a local computer technician can usually perform the operation. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that either transfers the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the board with the correct ROM data.
