This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the unit you receive may differ slightly in appearance from the photo. Intended for use in hard drive repair and data recovery, this board must be verified as compatible before installation. Please consult our hard drive diagnostics guide to determine whether a replacement PCB will resolve your issue, and use the Donor Matching Guide to confirm part compatibility. Many hard drive PCBs contain critical, unique data stored in the ROM ("memory") chip; that information is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself, or its data, needs to be transferred to the replacement board. If you are not comfortable performing this, a local computer technician can usually transplant the chip. For purchases of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either physically moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
