This sale is for the hard drive PCB / logic board ONLY — the drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended for hard drive repair and data recovery use. Most drive PCBs store unique configuration data in a ROM (memory) chip; that ROM data is required for correct operation. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred or reprogrammed onto the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
