Item is the hard drive PCB / logic board only — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we keep a large stock of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This board is supplied for HDD repair and data-recovery tasks. Before purchasing, verify that replacing the PCB is appropriate by checking our Hard Drive Diagnostics guide and confirming compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most Seagate PCBs store unique configuration data in a ROM memory chip that is required for the drive to operate correctly; that ROM or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the swap. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
