This board is intended for hard drive repair and data-recovery use. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your issue by using our hard drive Diagnostics Guide, and verify compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most Seagate PCBs contain a unique ROM chip that stores drive-specific information required for proper operation; that ROM or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If transplanting the ROM chip is possible, a local computer technician can usually perform the task.
