This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery projects. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement board will resolve your issue by using our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most Seagate PCBs contain unique configuration data stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function properly. The ROM chip itself, or its data, must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service: we will either transplant the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogram the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
