Item is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we keep a large inventory of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for HDD repair and data-recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm that a PCB swap will resolve your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs contain unique information in a ROM memory chip that is required for correct drive operation; that ROM chip or its data must be moved to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be transferred, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — either moving the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
