This listing is for a hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the drive itself is not included. Because we maintain a large inventory of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These PCBs are sold for hard drive repair and data recovery use. Most hard drive circuit boards store unique calibration and configuration data on a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for proper drive operation. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board — if the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can typically perform that task. For customers with orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service, which covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
