This listing is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we have a large inventory, the exact PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Important: most Seagate PCBs hold unique configuration data in a ROM "memory" chip that is required for the drive to function. Either the ROM chip itself or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can usually move the chip. For customers spending $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the proper ROM data.
