This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we have a large inventory of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is offered for hard drive repair and data-recovery purposes. Before purchasing, verify that a replacement board will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and confirm compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many Seagate PCBs store unique drive parameters in a ROM memory chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself or its contents must be moved to the replacement board, or the new board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data. If transferring the chip is possible, a local computer technician can normally perform the transplant. For customers spending $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service, which covers either transplanting the ROM chip to your new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the proper ROM data.
