You are purchasing the hard drive PCB (logic board) only — the hard drive itself is NOT included. Because we maintain a large inventory, the exact circuit board you receive may vary slightly from the photograph. This PCB is intended for HDD repair and data recovery work. Prior to buying, use our Hard Drive Diagnostics Guide to confirm that a replacement circuit board will resolve your problem, and verify compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Many hard drive PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM "memory" chip that is required for proper drive operation. That ROM chip, or its data, must be transferred to the replacement board; if the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
