Item is the hard drive logic board (PCB) only — drive is NOT included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the specific board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is supplied for hard drive repair and data-recovery work and is intended to replace a faulty circuit board on compatible Seagate SATA 2.5 drives. Before ordering, confirm that a PCB swap will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs contain unique ROM (memory) data that is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its stored data must be transferred or reprogrammed onto the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can typically perform the transplant. For customers with orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service: either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
