This sale is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. The board is intended for data recovery and hard drive repair tasks. Because we stock many PCB units, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your issue by consulting our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most Seagate PCBs store unique calibration and configuration data in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself, or its contents, must be transferred to the replacement circuit board. If you cannot transplant the chip yourself, a local computer repair technician can usually perform the transfer. For customers with orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that covers either moving the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
