The high-solids alkyd formula forms a satin protective film in two coats while leaving the wood grain visible. Translucent iron oxide pigments and UV absorbers help prevent graying and deterioration; the coating's microporosity and flexibility help limit blistering and cracking as wood expands, contracts or holds moisture.

It is intended for logs, siding, trim, beams and garage doors made from woods including cedar, fir, pine, spruce and redwood. Do not use it on walkable horizontal surfaces such as decks; Cetol SRD and Cetol DEK are deck-stain alternatives. It is compatible over an existing Sikkens Proluxe Cetol 1 and Cetol 23 Plus system.

Finished color can vary with wood species, texture, porosity and application technique, so testing a sample on your wood is recommended. New factory sample cans are no longer made, though some colors remain in 4 oz factory cans while supplies last; other 4 oz samples are packaged in-house.
