Scrub the wood, wipe it with a clean lint-free cloth, then rinse.

For brightening, shake the bottle, put on protective gloves and mix the brightener with water at a 1:1 ratio. Rub it along the grain with a clean lint-free cloth, leave it for a few minutes, then rinse. Once the wood is clean and dry, shake the oil and apply it liberally along the grain with a lint-free cloth. After a few minutes, wipe off the excess and allow 4-6 hours to dry.

The instructions recommend three coats of oil, cleaning and re-oiling once a year, and using the brightener when the wood has weathered badly. The kit received a 2022 DIYWeek award.
