Sikkens Proluxe 23 Top Coat RE Wood Finish is listed as a Yellow, 5 gal product in Wood Stains, Coatings & Finishes. The source identifies the color as Butternut (072) and gives the item code SIK43072/05; the listing model is SIK22072. SKU sku-133542496; UPC 056198655652. The offer describes free ground shipping for 1 gallon and 5 gallon pails to the Lower 48 United States, excluding Alaska, Hawaii and US territories. It applies to this item, not the entire order. The source says the Sikkens formula stayed the same when its label and name changed to Proluxe. A 2019 PPG update renamed Proluxe Cetol 23 Plus RE Wood Finish to Proluxe 23 Top Coat RE Wood Finish. Cetol 23 RE is a translucent exterior wood finish used as the second and third coat over Cetol 1 RE. Apply Cetol 1 RE to properly prepared wood first. Its oil-alkyd formula is intended to penetrate and adhere to vertical wood; translucent iron oxide pigments and UV absorbers provide color retention and UV protection. The finish is water repellent, weather resistant, flexible and breathable, and forms a satin-sheen film. It can be used on log walls and homes, siding, garage and entrance doors, outdoor furniture, trim and windows. It is not for walkable horizontal surfaces such as decks; the source suggests Cetol SRD or Cetol DEK for decks. Estimated coverage per coat is 200 to 300 sq. ft. per gallon on rough or weathered wood and 400 to 500 sq. ft. per gallon on smooth wood or hardwoods. Actual coverage depends on wood type, age, texture and application method. Listed colors are Natural Oak (005), Dark Oak (009), Mahogany (045), Butternut (072), Cedar (077), Natural (078) and Teak (085). The source also points to a Sikkens color visualization tool and purchasable sample cans, noting that screen colors may differ from delivered stain. D.O.T. restrictions prevent air shipment.
