Optical construction incorporates one aspherical element to minimize spherical aberration and distortion for clean, sharp rendering. A Nano Crystal Coat on individual elements reduces internal reflections, flare, and ghosting to help preserve contrast and accurate color under challenging lighting.

AF-S Silent Wave Motor provides fast, quiet, and accurate autofocus performance, while full-time manual focus override lets you fine-tune focus without switching modes. The lens uses a Rear Focusing System in which only the rear group moves during focusing; this keeps the overall lens length constant and contributes to quicker focusing.
