A versatile standard zoom for Nikon FX-format F-mount cameras, the AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm F/2.8G ED also performs on DX bodies, where it provides a 36-105mm equivalent focal length range. Its constant, bright F/2.8 maximum aperture delivers uniform illumination across the full zoom range and offers strong control over depth of field for subject isolation and selective-focus work. The optical layout includes three aspherical elements to reduce spherical aberration and distortion for sharp, accurately rendered images, and three extra-low dispersion elements to minimize color fringing and chromatic aberration for improved clarity and color fidelity. Individual lens elements are treated with both Nano Crystal Coat and Super Integrated Coating to suppress internal reflections, flare, and ghosting, resulting in better contrast and truer color reproduction in strong lighting conditions.
