Long telephoto zoom built for FX-format cameras, and on DX bodies delivers a 300–750mm equivalent focal length. The lens keeps a constant f/5.6 maximum aperture across the zoom range for predictable exposure and performance. Optical construction includes three extra-low dispersion (ED) elements to minimize chromatic aberration and color fringing for improved clarity and color fidelity. Individual elements receive Nikon’s Super Integrated Coating to reduce internal reflections, flare, and ghosting when shooting in bright or challenging light. AF is driven by a Silent Wave Motor for fast, quiet, and accurate focusing, with full-time manual focus override available. An internal focusing mechanism moves only internal groups so the lens length remains fixed during use and focusing is quicker. Vibration Reduction (VR) is included, and the lens ships with a tripod.
