Newmar 115-12-8 is a heavy-duty power supply for 12 and 24 VDC communication and navigation equipment aboard commercial vessels. A front-panel slide switch selects 115 or 230 VAC input. Output regulation is within 1% under rated line and load conditions. Ripple is below 40 mV P-P for 12 V models and 70 mV P-P for 24 V models. The PC board has a polyurethane conformal coating; the corrosion-resistant aluminum case has integral shock mounts. Heat sink fins dissipate semiconductor heat. Protection includes overvoltage, current limiting set at 105% of the intermittent rating, thermal overload, and input and output fuses. CD units have a thermally activated fan. 12 V model specifications: 115-12-8 has 115/230 VAC input, 8 amps intermittent output, 5 amps continuous output, dimensions of 6.0" H x 4.6" W x 8.5" D, and a weight of 10lbs. 115-12-20A has 20 amps intermittent, 8 amps continuous, dimensions of 5.7" H x 4.8" W x 16.3" D, and a weight of 20lbs. 115-12-35CD has 35 amps intermittent and continuous, dimensions of 6.5" H x 9.5" W x 14.0" D, and a weight of 32lbs. 24 V model specifications: 115-24-10 has 10 amps intermittent, 4 amps continuous, dimensions of 5.7" H x 4.8" W x 16.3" D, and a weight of 20lbs. 115-24-18CD has 18 amps intermittent and continuous, dimensions of 6.5" H x 9.5" W x 14.0" D, and a weight of 32lb. 115-24-35CD has 35 amps intermittent and continuous, dimensions of 6.5" H x 13.0" W x 18.75" D, and a weight of 60lbs. 12 V models provide 13.6 VDC, internally adjustable from 12.6 to 14.5 VDC. 24 V models provide 24.5 VDC, adjustable from 21 to 27.5 VDC. Ripple specifications apply at 110-125 or 220-250 VAC input. All models have 1% line and load regulation at those inputs. Selectable input range is 105-125/210-250 VAC at 50-60 Hz. Output derates to 50% below 110 and 220 VAC. Operating temperature is 0-50°C; output derates linearly from 100% at 40°C to 50% at 50°C. Thermal shutdown occurs at an 85°C case temperature.
