KastKing Kapstan Elite HS Fishing Reel sku-5356445846

The KastKing Kapstan Elite HS is a saltwater spinning reel listed under Fishing in color Other as sku-5356445846, UPC 717020579194. KastKing describes it as 100% waterproof at the IPX6 level and its highest-end reel, with up to 15 EverSeal rubber rings around the main gear.

Its Intrusion Shield System uses greased labyrinth-style sealing grooves designed to limit water entry and rotational resistance. The bearing system has 6 double-shielded stainless steel ball bearings, 3 rust-resistant polymer roller bearings and 1 stainless steel, 8-pin one-way bearing to prevent reverse rotation.

Sizes 3000 and 4000 have a 6.2:1 gear ratio and a triple-disc carbon fiber drag rated to 30lbs. Sizes 5000 and 6000 have a 5.7:1 ratio and a quad-disc carbon fiber drag rated to 40lbs. Size 8000 has a 4.9:1 ratio and a double drag with five front carbon fiber discs and one spool disc, rated to 55lbs. The title also states up to 55LBs maximum drag.

The reel has a CNC aluminum frame, with a carbon fiber rotor on sizes 3000 and 4000 and a CNC aluminum rotor on sizes 5000, 6000 and 8000. Its handle and knob are machined from solid aluminum. The gears include an HRB 90 alloy pinion and a manganese brass gear; KastKing states they are 20% more durable than aluminum and 95% more durable than zinc alloys.

The CNC aluminum spool accepts braid without mono backing, and the one-piece bail is designed to avoid rust and line snags. The reel is intended for offshore, deep-sea and other saltwater fishing, as well as large freshwater fish. KastKing recommends closing the bail manually after casting to reduce line twist.

On sizes 3000 and 4000, turning the handle can also close it; on sizes 5000, 6000 and 8000, the bail must be closed by hand before retrieving.
