K&N states that dyno testing showed a horsepower and acceleration increase, with up to 50% more airflow than a restrictive factory air box and intake tube.
The kit is intended to improve throttle response when towing and make engine sound more audible while protecting against contaminants. It needs no ECU tune, can be fitted with basic hand tools in less than an hour, and requires no filter cleaning for up to 100,000 miles. A 10-year/million-mile limited warranty applies.
