Snapshots of the Past Easter Wall Art L sku-13619973881

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art in Black, size L, sku-13619973881, UPC 466980193925. This 16" x 20" historic print shows youngsters rolling Easter eggs on the White House lawn in Washington, D.C., on April 10. The company makes restored reproductions of historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives using fine-art and archival paper with pigmented inks.

It says the prints can last a lifetime and be passed down. Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers.

It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, enabled inexpensive mass production of prints. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural history.

The company's other prints include old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. They are offered as decor for homes and workplaces or as gifts.
