Snapshots of the Past Wall Art: a Black, size L reproduction print titled Yorktown Va. Headquarters of Gen. John B. Magruder, measuring 16 x 20 inches; sku-13248403630, UPC 464003910863. The company restores historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives for home display.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproductions. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass-produced prints possible.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; the National Digital Library Program followed in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural heritage. The reproductions use fine-art archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

The range also includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters, early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, and retro-style prints for homes or workplaces.
