The company's reproductions use Library of Congress archival images, archival paper and pigmented inks; its range includes historical maps, photographs and posters for display or gifts.

Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008.

Lithography, a technique that made inexpensive mass-produced prints possible, was invented in 1796. The Library of Congress launched its American Memory pilot in 1989; that project laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections about American cultural heritage.

The company's print range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. SKU: sku-13242768366. UPC: 468698877074.
